Offshore Crane Operator Stage 1 – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

The Offshore Crane Operator Stage 1 Training Programme is designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to begin developing competence in offshore crane operations. The course is specifically designed for personnel with little or no previous crane operating experience and introduces the basic principles, procedures, and safety requirements associated with operating cranes in the offshore environment. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

Participants will develop an understanding of fundamental offshore crane operations, including the principles of lifting and load handling, the hazards associated with suspended loads, and the potential consequences of unsafe lifting practices. The course also covers the roles and responsibilities of an offshore crane operator, basic operational procedures, hazard identification, and risk management. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the safety implications of crane operations, protecting personnel and assets, and following established procedures to support safe and controlled lifting activities.

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma
