Banksman and Slinger Initial Training (previously Stage 1) – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

This training course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to perform lifting and hoisting operations safely and effectively in coordination with a crane operator. It equips personnel involved in rigging and slinging with the necessary understanding of hoisting techniques, load hooking, lifting equipment, communication procedures, and relevant safety requirements. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

The main objective of this course is to ensure that participants can carry out lifting and hoisting operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. Proper planning and preparation are essential, and shortcuts must never be taken during any stage of a lifting operation. If a potential hazard or unsafe condition is identified, the operation must be stopped immediately and must not resume until the risks have been assessed, appropriate control measures implemented, and the remaining risk determined to be at an acceptable level.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate of two years and eight months validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
