Purpose
Confined spaces can present significant hazards due to their limited access, restricted ventilation, and potentially dangerous atmospheric conditions. Without adequate knowledge, safety awareness, and proper precautions, working in confined spaces can result in serious injuries or fatalities. This course focuses on essential safety procedures and preventive measures that must be followed before, during, and after confined space entry to minimize risks and protect personnel. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives
Participants will learn how to identify and assess the hazards associated with confined spaces and understand the precautions required before entry. The course covers essential safety procedures, pre-entry checklists, permit-to-work requirements, and the correct selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment. Participants will also learn the importance of atmospheric testing, including checking oxygen levels and detecting hazardous or flammable gases, to verify that entry conditions are safe. In addition, the course addresses emergency response procedures and the appropriate actions to take in the event of an incident, with particular emphasis on preventing unauthorized or unplanned rescue attempts that could endanger additional personnel.

Evaluation
All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.
Certification - Diploma
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with three years validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
