Purpose

Personnel who work in or are exposed to noisy working environments must understand the risks associated with occupational noise and the importance of effective hearing protection. Prolonged or excessive exposure to noise can cause permanent hearing damage, often developing gradually without immediately noticeable symptoms. This training course highlights the importance of noise awareness, hazard identification, and the correct use of hearing protection to prevent occupational hearing loss and maintain long-term hearing health.

Objectives

The main objective of this course is to ensure that participants understand the hazards associated with workplace noise and develop the knowledge required to manage noise-related risks effectively. Participants will learn how to identify and assess noise hazards, recognize the potential health effects of excessive noise exposure, and implement appropriate control measures. The course also covers the correct selection, use, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection devices. Particular emphasis is placed on reducing noise exposure, following established safety procedures, and promoting safe working practices to protect hearing and support a healthier working environment.
