Purpose

Boat transfers can easily become dangerous operations and even lead to fatality (especially in heavy, windy weathers) and as of that there is a need for safety trainings, as nowadays safety can not be compromised and is of a paramount importance in maritime industry (key to stay safe and sound is training and safety procedures). This training course is designed to be only in line with GWO.

Content

• The course will cover the following topics:
• Travel preparation and procedures
• Vessel to dock (vice versa)
• Vessel to wind turbine (vice versa)
• Personnel basket, capsule ,swing rope, gangway transfers
• LSA (Lifesaving appliances)
• PPE (Personal protective equipment)
• Contingency procedures
• Man overboard (hypothermia)
• Sea survival

Objectives

Participants will be familiarized with safety procedures and gain better perception / view on possible hazards which may occur during personnel boat transfer operation (crew / passengers embarking & disembarking), how to act in various contingency situations, man overboard and what to do for improved sea survival.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification - Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with two years validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
