Purpose
Hands and fingers are exposed to a wide range of workplace hazards during everyday tasks, particularly when personnel work with tools, machinery, and equipment or place their hands in the line of fire. Without proper precautions and adequate protection, these activities can result in cuts, crush injuries, fractures, burns, and other potentially serious injuries. Understanding the associated risks and selecting the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to preventing hand and finger injuries. Protecting your hands starts with awareness and prevention, not after an injury has occurred.

Objectives
Participants will learn about the common causes and types of hand and finger injuries, how to identify potential hazards, and how to minimize risks through safe working practices and appropriate PPE selection. The course also covers relevant preventive and control measures, as well as the basic first aid response required if an injury occurs. The overall objective is to promote safer working habits, strengthen hazard awareness, and prevent avoidable hand and finger injuries in the workplace.
