HERTL Further (Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Further)- Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

The HERTL Further training programme is designed for personnel whose initial Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) certificate or HERTL Further certificate has expired and who require refresher training. The course reinforces the importance of emergency preparedness and pre-planning, ensuring participants can respond promptly and effectively to a range of helideck and helicopter-related emergencies. It also focuses on maintaining the leadership, decision-making, and coordination skills necessary to manage emergency situations safely and efficiently. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

Participants will refresh and update their knowledge of the key procedures and requirements associated with the helideck emergency response plan. The course covers emergency firefighting procedures, the identification of potential helideck emergencies, team roles and responsibilities, leadership and command techniques, emergencies involving Normally Unattended Installations (NUIs), and search and rescue operations. Particular emphasis is placed on effective communication, sound decision-making, team coordination, and the ability to initiate and lead an appropriate, timely emergency response in accordance with established procedures.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire and pass series of emergency scenarios in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with validity of two years in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
