HERTM Further (Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Further) – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

The Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) Further Training programme is designed to refresh and reinforce the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required by offshore personnel performing emergency response duties during helideck and helicopter-related emergencies. The course is intended for personnel whose initial HERTM or HERTM Further certificate has expired, including those performing Helideck Assistant (HDA) duties. Personnel who are to be appointed to Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) duties must renew their expired HERTM certification by completing the Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) course instead. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

The main objective of the Further Training programme is to refresh participants’ understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Helideck Emergency Response Team Member and their ability to respond appropriately to a range of helideck emergencies. The course revisits helideck firefighting procedures, helicopter emergency response, search and rescue operations, and emergencies involving Normally Unattended Installations (NUIs). Particular emphasis is placed on following established procedures, carrying out assigned duties safely, effective teamwork, and maintaining the skills necessary to support a coordinated and timely emergency response.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire and pass series of emergency scenarios in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with two years validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
