Purpose

Well established communication plays a big role for any operation which will contribute to safety execution. Offshore helideck / helicopter operations are considered critical and a well established communication between helideck radio operator and helicopter pilot is of a paramount importance.

The course will cover the following topics:
Introduction to radiotelephony
Radio operator transmitting technique
Callsigns and identification
Offshore radio operator role
Radio coverage and helicopter terminology
Emergency phraseology & communication
Offshore helideck / helicopter phraseology
Corrections, repetitions & proper comm. format
Aeronautical abbreviation

Objectives

Participants will gain knowledge in radio operator routine communications, emergency response communications arrangements and the actions required of a radio operator during offshore helicopter operations.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with validity of two years in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
