Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO)
The Helicopter Landing Officer course gives knowledge and skills to control the routine offshore heli-deck operations and the proper responses to heli-deck emergencies.
HLO training has been designed to expose delegates to the practices and regulatory requirements essential to supervise and organize safe and proficient helicopter
- The course will cover the following topics:
- Helicopters’ hazards
- Helicopters, various types and specific roles
- Helideck equipments and characteristics
- Helicopter landing and departure supervision
- Helicopter loading and unloading
- Dangerous goods awareness
- Passenger embarking and disembarking
- Refuelling operations
- Cargo handling
- Communication and helideck signs
- Helicopter start-up and shut-down
- Emergency actions-procedures, in charge of the fire fighting operations
Delegates will learn and demonstrate a level of competency on how to operate fire fighting-protection equipment and how to deal with any emergency situations on helideck.
Pre Course Requirement
All participants must be in possession of Basic Training certificate as per STCW VI/1
10 Participants minimum (can be organized for less, but the price would be 50% higher)
Conditions for participation
Participants in this course must have a medical certificate that is fit to participate in this training and to sign self declaration medical form.

Hotel booking assisted for participants living far from Trogir.
All participants have to make at least three unassisted escapes-egresses from the helicopter capsule-simulator and to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.
Certification – Diploma
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will certificate which validity of will be three years in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2002 requirements.
