HLO Training (Helicopter Landing Officer) – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

The Helicopter Landing Officer course gives knowledge and skills to control the routine offshore helideck operations and the proper responses to helideck emergencies. HLO training has been designed to expose participants to the practices and regulatory requirements essential to supervise and organize safe and proficient helicopter operations. This training course is designed to be only in line with OPITO.

Content

The course will cover the following topics:
Helicopter’s hazards
Helicopters, various types and specific roles
Helideck equipment and characteristics
Helicopter landing and departure supervision
Helicopter loading and unloading
Dangerous goods awareness
Passenger embarking and disembarking
Refueling operations
Cargo handling
Communication and helideck signs
Helicopter start-up and shut-down
Emergency actions-procedures, in charge of the fire fighting operations
Rescue operation

Objectives

Participants will learn and obtain a demonstrative level of competency on how to execute all helideck and helicopter operations: operate fire fighting-protection equipment, deal with any emergency situations, execute safe refueling operation, communication and hand signals, dangerous goods and cargo safe handling etc.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire and several exercises in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with validity of three years in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
