Purpose

Mercury is a chemical element with the symbol Hg and atomic number 80 and is a very hazardous substance which is harmful to the environment and on top of all for human health in not handled properly. Proper handle and needed precautions when dealing with mercury will be shown in this training course.

The course will cover the following topics:
Mercury properties
Associated hazards
Mercury exposure
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
Mercury waste management
Emergency situations
First aid

Objectives

Participants will gain valuable knowledge and precautions for all risks associated with mercury handle, required personal protective equipment (PPE), how to apply first aid in emerg. situations in case of poisoning, how to handle mercury waste within regulations etc.
