Objectives

The main objective of this training course is to provide participants with an understanding of NORM, its sources, common industrial applications, and the potential health risks associated with exposure to naturally occurring radioactive materials. Participants will learn about basic radiation principles, common areas where NORM may accumulate, and methods used to detect and monitor radioactive contamination. The course also covers appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling practices, exposure prevention, and relevant control measures. Particular emphasis is placed on recognizing potential NORM hazards, following established safety procedures, and applying appropriate precautions to minimize exposure and protect both personnel and the environment.
