Purpose

Main puropse of this course is to proper understand offshore vessel’s specific propulsion system. It is of a paramount importance for uncompromised safety of the crew, ship & offshore assets. Un-familiarized manoeuvering operator is much more likely to cause accident / incident and endanger all involved parties.

The course will cover the following topics:
CPP (controllable pitch propeller)
FPP (fixed pitch propeller)
ASD (azimuth stern drive)
VSP (voith schneider propeller)
Water jet propulsion
Stern & bow tunnel thrusters
Drop down (retractable) thruster

Objectives

Participants will be gain important core familiarization with the propulsion system in offshore maritime industry and how to utilize it correctly / efficiently. To know for each propulsion system it’s main components, input commands & output force generation which will reflect on safe operation.
