Rigger Initial Training (previously Stage 1) – Course ONLINE

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of rigging principles and the general hazards and risks associated with rigging and lifting operations. It is designed for personnel involved in lifting activities, rigging tasks, and crane operations. As even a single mistake during these activities can result in serious injury, damage to equipment, or fatalities, understanding and following established safety procedures is essential. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

Participants will develop the knowledge and practical skills required to carry out rigging and lifting operations safely and effectively. The course covers hazard identification, recognition of unsafe acts and conditions, effective communication during lifting operations, and the roles and responsibilities of a rigger. Particular emphasis is placed on safe working practices, the correct handling of lifting equipment, coordination among personnel, and maintaining a high level of safety awareness to prevent accidents and protect everyone involved in rigging operations.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate of two years and eight months validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
