SOPEP / SMPEP Familiarization – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose
A SOPEP / SMPEP is a prevention plan carried on board vessels to get an overview of possible procedures in case of an oil spill. A Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) carried by vessels over 400 GT, and a Shipboard Marine Pollution Emergency Plan (SMPEP) is carried also by vessels of 150 GT and above, certified to carry noxious liquid substances in bulk. During pollution incidents each crew member on board needs to safely and swiftly perform its duty role as per emergency plan in order to prevent or mitigate environmental pollution.

Objectives
After this course participants will acquire knowledge and procedures to efficiently and timely fight pollution on board without endangering anybody around (safety first). Learn what are the proper steps for response provided in Shipboard Oil and Pollution Emergency Plan / Shipboard Marine Pollution Emergency Plan, how to perform reporting etc.

All participants have to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain the certificate.
