Purpose
The purpose of this course is to promote the safe transfer of personnel and passengers by boat in offshore and maritime environments. Safety must be prioritised before, during, and after every transfer operation, with appropriate procedures and precautions followed at every stage. This course highlights the potential hazards associated with boat transfers and the importance of effective preparation, communication, and compliance with established safety requirements. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will understand the procedures and safety requirements for embarking, transferring, and disembarking by boat at offshore installations and other locations at sea. The course covers hazard awareness, safe transfer techniques, the correct use of Life-Saving Appliances (LSA), and restrictions on items that may be prohibited or unsafe to carry during transfers. Participants will also learn the importance of following crew instructions, maintaining situational awareness, and applying Stop Work Authority whenever unsafe conditions arise. Particular emphasis is placed on preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of all personnel and passengers throughout the transfer operation.
