BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) with MIST – Course
Purpose
This course is designed to provide initial onshore safety and emergency response training for personnel entering the offshore industry. It introduces participants to the fundamental safety principles, hazard awareness, and emergency response procedures required when working on offshore installations and vessels. The aim is to develop a basic understanding of the risks associated with offshore operations and prepare participants to respond appropriately to potential emergency situations.
The training combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises and assessments. Participants are required to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness of the subjects covered throughout the programme. Personnel who already hold a valid Basic Training Certificate in accordance with STCW Regulation VI/1 may require additional offshore-specific training, such as Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), before travelling by helicopter to an offshore installation or vessel. However, the applicable training and certification requirements depend on the relevant offshore standards, employer requirements, and operational circumstances and should be confirmed before deployment. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).
