Purpose
Health and safety training is essential in every workplace, particularly in the maritime industry, where personnel may be exposed to a wide range of occupational hazards. Effective training helps establish and maintain a safe working environment by increasing awareness of potential risks, promoting safe working practices, and ensuring that employees understand the appropriate procedures to follow in emergency situations.
Content
- Overview of labor legislation; employees’ legal rights and responsibilities
- Workplace hygiene, orderliness, and causes of occupational diseases
- Legal consequences of occupational accidents and illnesses
- Principles of disease prevention and protective measures
- Biological and psychosocial risk factors; first aid; harmful effects of tobacco
- Chemical, physical, and ergonomic risks; manual handling techniques
- Fire and explosion prevention; use of safety equipment
- Display screen equipment, electrical risks, and preventive measures
- Causes of occupational accidents; accident prevention methods
- Health and safety signage; use of personal protective equipment
- Safety culture, evacuation, and rescue procedures
Objectives
Participants will gain essential knowledge of their legal rights and responsibilities, workplace health and safety requirements, and good working practices. The course covers fundamental safety rules, emergency response procedures, the correct selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification, risk assessment, and appropriate measures to prevent or minimize workplace risks. The overall objective is to strengthen safety awareness, encourage responsible behaviour, and support a proactive safety culture throughout maritime operations.

All participants have to complete a questionnaire/exam in order to obtain the certificate.

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with unlimited validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
