HERTM (Helideck Emergency Response Team Member) – Training Course ONLINE

Purpose

The Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) training programme is designed to equip offshore personnel involved in helideck emergency response with the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to perform their duties effectively during helideck and helicopter-related emergencies. The course emphasizes the importance of following the Helicopter Landing Officer’s (HLO) instructions, understanding established emergency procedures, and carrying out assigned duties safely, efficiently, and in coordination with the rest of the emergency response team. This is an independent training designed to follow OPITO framework (not OPITO approved).

Objectives

The main objective of the course is to ensure that participants understand their roles and responsibilities as Helideck Emergency Response Team Members and can respond appropriately to a variety of emergency scenarios. Topics include helideck firefighting, helicopter accident response, search and rescue operations, and emergencies involving Normally Unattended Installations (NUIs). Particular emphasis is placed on personal safety, teamwork, communication, and the correct execution of emergency response procedures in accordance with established plans and instructions.

Evaluation

All participants have to complete a questionnaire and pass series of emergency scenarios in order to obtain the certificate.

Certification – Diploma

All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive certificate with two years validity in line with Offshore International Industries guidelines. This Training follows international standards of quality and meets the ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
